Tourism Resource or Tourism Product?

Understanding this difference matters because it defines the paths for the Marketing of your business.⠀

🚵 Product: A natural, cultural or man-made asset with guaranteed operation, safety, full functioning and active service. It is ready to sit on the shelves and display windows of sales. When combined with tourism equipment and services, it becomes even more attractive. From there we have an infrastructure that guarantees delivery and positioning of the product. ⠀

🌄 Resource: The raw material of the tourism product. A natural, cultural or man-made asset that does not have guaranteed operation. It can attract tourist interest but is not prepared to be sold, nor can it even guarantee excellence, since it has no standard of functioning, safety or logistical operation. ⠀

➡️ Several factors reveal whether we have a Resource or a Tourism Product. Whether it is hard to get there, or there is no guarantee the place will be open, or something might happen that affects my safety. Knowing whether there is insurance or other guarantees, whether there is service and a minimum quality standard. Whether, if I am hungry, there is a structure for meals or a place to rest and spend the night. Whether an inbound operator can assist me, as support. ⠀

❗Worry about Marketing once you have your Product formatted and ready to sell. While it is still a Resource, every limitation can negatively affect your promotion strategies.
